Racing Against Drugs

The Race Against Drugs field trip was a very cool experience.  They teach you about different types of drugs and what will happen if you take them.  Also if you smoke a pack of cigarettes every day for a year, you will have a jar full of tar in your body.

At Racing Against Drugs, I learned about all kinds of drugs and what they do to you.  At the end, I was a racer to race for the trophy.

Olympics at Taps

On February 21, we had an Olympic day.  We had hockey, speed skating, and figure skating.  Our two teachers Miss. Smith and Mr. Munroe partnered up and figure skated together to the song Timber.  Sadly in the staff vs student hockey game, the TEACHERS WON!  But it was fun to watch, and speed skating was fun to watch as well.

On Olympic day we all made flags representing our team countries and made up chants.  We watched speed skating and staff vs students playing hockey.

"We are presenting our Social Studies projects and it will be awesome."

"Mr. Doxtator came in and spoke with our class about his life as a child.  He also brought in things he collected over the years.  We all made a nice craft in the the end.  It was very fun."

Hello!      I"m Meagan and today on Thursday, November 21st, I'm telling you about the awesome McGregor play that was just at our school!

We all learned that you have every right to live and you're worth everything!  Thanks to the Drama students from McGregor school for visiting our school.

We learned about bullies.  Your voice needs to be heard.  Stand up when you're being bullied.  Stand up.  Let them hear your voice.  Too many Canadian kids die because of bullies.  Remember the Kids Help Phone. (1 800 668 6868)         by: Carter

"What impressed me the most at the battle of the Thames was how they made pottery and what the inside of a teepee looked like. They showed us all the fur they used for blankets.  They used grass as the floor. It was actually very facsinating."

"I learned that they had to make up their own games like tug of war."

"I also learned that they used fox, muskrat, and deer hide for clothes and blankets."

" It impressed me when I went to a shop and it had a lot of fur and animal skin.  I learned that if you were a blacksmith, you would probably burn yourself daily."

"Something that impressed me was when my group and I went to the pot making area.  They used a very heavy rock and they turned it with their feet.  That impressed me because I thought they would make peddles and do it with their feet like a bike."

"It impressed me how hard they had to work."

"I learned that their life was hard because they had to make everything and it took hours to make."

"We went into a school house.  The teacher was very strict."
